I went to Best Buy last night on the word of this story. There were no copies on the shelf and I asked an employee about whether or not they were selling it. He, of course, said that they weren't but looked it up in their inventory system and they had still received zero copied and it had a street date of November 13. Don't know if this helps debunk the story or not.
What I read from that story is that someone at Joystiq fears that Sony may REMOVE the backwards compatibility from the PS3 at some point in the future, negating the need to rush into anything at this point.

Also, @robert, I *think* that the Wu-Tang game had trouble on the PS2 as well, which is one reason it won't work on the PS3.
Yep...I took a picture of the same thing during the Phantom Hourglass release party-thing. At a minimum I would expect them to be sold exclusively at the Nintendo World Store. They did that with a golden, triforce laden Gameboy Advance SP.
You're crazy. From the time I called tech support to having a refurbed unit in my hand was like 4 weeks. It took nearly a week and a half to get my empty box, 3 to 4 business days to send mine back and from their time of receipt of my broken one, 9 business days to get my refurb. This is all recent, too...as I just got mine back in the middle of last week.
But then you have to be able to get back online to get this NEW update...something us 110213'ers can't do.
It looks like I'm one of the lucky ones..I'm getting this error code and tried multiple times last night to connect to WiiConnect24 and again this morning. I think something really is borked on it because this morning, neither of my controllers would sync with the unit. This sucks.
Justin, the iMac isn't included in the free nano promotion. It's only Macbooks, Macbook Pros, Mac Pros, and Powermac G5s.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
