Rogers' regular sized BlackBerry Bold gets priced: $399.99 on a 3-year contract {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 16th 2008 10:42PM I suddenly feel some actual compassion for all the canucks cryin about their wireless options. Mother of god, 3 years and 400 bucks... Wow.

Sprint AIRAVE review {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 13th 2008 12:46PM When T-Mobile launched their Hotspot @ Home service, they marketed it as a way to make free calls, NOT a way to boost a weak signal in your home. Why? It's more profitable for them to get a recurring monthly revenue from you than it is to sell you a one-time $100 box. But, T-Mobile at least gave us the courtesy of making the service optional. They've never advertised H@H as a signal booster but tekkies know that it can function as one. If you want to pay the extra 10 bucks a month for unlimited calling, you can, but you don't have to.

Sprint isn't giving customers the option, which I think totally sucks. I haven't seen any advertising for it but presumably they'll be taking the same route, i.e. not mentioning the fact that it can bring a cell signal to anywhere that has an internet connection. I don't quite understand why they don't market it as both. It's not like there isn't a market for signal boosters (see repeaterstore.com or any number of others). WTF?

Rogers' Q3 lineup revealed? {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 11th 2008 10:47AM The LG shine having UMA capabilities sounds pretty fishy too.

T-Mobile 3G is live in Vegas, baby {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 7th 2008 1:02AM Could you be more specific? I'm nearly certain that none of the phones currently available from T-Mobile can tell you if you're 3G'in it or not.

T-Mobile 3G is live in Vegas, baby {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 6th 2008 12:38PM "you may want to look for the pretty little icon..."
I could be wrong but I thought T-Mo didn't have any such icons on any of their phones yet. The handful that do AWS right now are voice-only dumbphones and, according to what I've read, don't give you any visual indication that you're connected to their 3G network, as opposed to the old one.

T-Mobile 3G service coming October 1 to 27 markets {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 31st 2008 3:53PM This has been the subject of much debate on the cellphonesignal.com forum. When it launched in NYC a few months ago, it was supposedly voice only, or so said T-Mobile. The consensus seems to be that the handsets just don't support it yet since they're basically dumbphones (like the Nokia 6263). But, a few people claim to have tethered with it and pulled some pretty solid speeds.

BlackBerry KickStart 8220 gets really early review {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 23rd 2008 3:05PM Doesn't T-Mobile's 8820 have both WiFi and GPS?

Auroroa: the open source DJ mixer {Engadget}

Jul 9th 2008 9:11AM I think having control over the physical design of a mixer is more important than flexibility of mapping the inputs. Realistically, what are you going to change? Maybe the fader curvers, maybe you like the EQ knobs in reverse order... I dunno, if I were to embark on so ambitious a project, I think I'd go for ergonomics, which to me is more important. It looks bad as hell though.

Is T-Mobile's 3G service rolling out nationwide in October? {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 7th 2008 10:45AM Isn't the 1700 MHz frequency supposed to penetrate walls better? If I could get better reception in my apartment and not be stuck with a H@H enabled phone, I'd be a happy little boy.

BlackBerry KickStart gets detailed in pictures {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 6th 2008 3:44AM I love going back to old posts of mine that I wrote drunk. God I sound like such a tool.
