Obviously they did it for chairity.
Where is the nipple / touchpoint?

Plus it looks cheap and crappy, plastics from blister pack packaging...
Pity entering text on a virtual keyboard is absolute rubbish and slow. I hate the virtual keyboard on my ipod touch.

Thing is if it can be made less sucky it sure makes devices more compact.
Why?
Because typing on a smudgy screen sucks. And precisely the reason Palm, Blackberry etc. include a proper keyboard that you can actually type fast on with their phones.
Popular amongst the nose picking spiral staircase owning crowd apparently...
Change the design.
Slidout / folding keyboard and a touch screen so it can be used as a tablet as well as loosing the need for touchpad / mouse. Include 3G / wifi / bluetooth for connectivity and so one can still take a call if your sim is in it...

Thanks Jon,

That is a deal breaker for me. Pity I was actually quite excited about this...

"The iPhone is the easiest smartphone to use"

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
