But what sucks even more is that with this drive and Wester Digital MyBook is that its impossible to do a full ScanDisk (with all options on) as it has to restart to get a exclusive lock on the Volume, but the drive is powered up AFTER the scandisk boot event, so scandisk never even sees the drive, therefore cannot repair damaged disk areas.
Avoid these new crap disks. Buy an enclosure with a power switch and drive separately instead.
