On the other hand, if you just HAVE to have the fancy fake guitar, then you pay for it. It's an asinine scenario: To lay out money that could buy a REAL guitar on a video game controller for playing a video game for wanna-bes is just stupid, but there's always been a market for the stupid and ridiculous, especially among the spoiled, impulse driven, have-to-impress-the-peers teenager to twenty-something crowd.
There is the option of NOT buying it, after all. To say this is "robbing" anyone is absolutely ridiculous. You can play the game with the plastic controller too.
Well, here's the problem. Stuff that exists on the internet doesn't exist forever, it exists until the server is shut down. We see it over and over again, DRM auth server style.
Now, a MAGAZINE lasts forever, IF you take care of it.
And frankly, there are places where I can take a magazine, where I can't take an online version.
You can carry a magazine to the crapper. You can take a woodworking magazine into your shop (not a good place for PCs). You can carry a magazine on a hike. You can read you magazine during a power outage (provided you have a light source...uh...FIRE)
For as smart as these "inventions" try to be, they sure are dumb.
"I bike every day, but I just can't lose any weight!!!!....uh....sure, I'll take whipped cream on that..."
Sad thing, is, that merely a paraphrase of a conversation I overheard between two large women sitting on a patio, eating ice cream sundaes at a little lunch place on the bike trail here. When they were done, they got on their bikes, and pedaled home, as slowly as possible, all of < 1/2 mile.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"

No one HAS to have these things.
