If this is anything like the creative zen, the battery life will be 1 hour (and it will die if you haven't charged it within a month), and they will require you to install crappy software like rhapsody to sync your e-books.
I concur, this is one of the most humble and down to earth guys if you watch interviews, as apposed to people like steve jobs, or Dyson
hmm.. I can already do this, for free.. it's called iphone + youtube (and yes, they are uploading a ton of movie for streaming, just like netflix)
robot chicken did a hilarious skit where a scientist basically says enough people have died trying to invent the jetpack, so stop asking!
I concur, I've nearly lost jump drives from the chintzy keyring on most thumb drives. You need more than just encryption to keep data safe, you need to make sure it doesn't fall out of your pocket!
geez, how lazy can we really get? How soon before the food is tracked with RFID tags, new food is automatically ordered and delivered via peapod, then the food is transferred to a microwave via conveyor belts, then it's brought to us by our butler robot so we never have to leave the couch?

Hey wait a minute, that's not a bad idea :-)
Been wanting one of these since it came out, $299 is cheap for something that does automatic panoramic (used during obama's inauguration too). I'd love to win one of these!
This isn't that silly. I carry around 2 seperate usb sticks with me all the time because I have a car stereo that reads USB, and if I so much as stick a JPEG on it, it fails reading from it. Therefore, I keep data on one, and music on the other.
Must be nice to be MIT, $150k in battery cells donated to them by A123. How sad would it be if a college develops a better electric car than major car companies (which is most likely to happen because there are no politics at a college, just straight development).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
