The quote used from the article does not mention global warming at all, it just mentions a hot playing surface, which can dehydrate or cause heatstroke in athletes, meaning that the safety and comfort levels of Field Turf fields in the summer can be questionable when the mercury and the sun are working together.
This is just getting ridiculous. The NBA pays its players to play basketball, not to dress like they work in an office building. And even so, it's not like Sheed didn't put any effort into looking his spiffiest. Am I going to think Rasheed Wallace is more of a thug because he isn't adhering to a 100% exact dress code that is incredibly meticulous? No. He was dressed up, and for the NBA to ban him from sitting on the bench in the middle of a game is just plain ridiculous.
I disagree with those who don't like the look. I think that this thing looks like it would send a clear message when in your rearview: Get the **** out of the way! I think it's a great looking roadster -- Dodge would be foolish not to move this concept into production for the masses. A worthy answer from Chrysler Group to the Mazda's MX5, and the Generals' Solstice & Sky.
It seems as though more people favor HD DVD right now, perhaps because of the name. I like blu-ray for expanded capacity -- who doesn't want to back up an entire collection of MP3's (and more) on a single 50 GB disc? If a hybrid disc that has high capacity can be developed affordably, more power to it. It sounds like such a disc would be more expensive, and seems to fill the purpose of a 3rd party compromise between formats. I have mixed feelings -- I just keep hoping blu-ray makes it long enough for production costs on drives and BD-R's to decrease simply for data reasons. As far as movies go, anything that works is fine by me.
I'd type more, but I don't want any more drool to get on my keyboard...
This is the problem I had with iTunes 7.0.0, even though I had never had any problems with previous releases. I also had this problem when I first ran 7.0.1, but after exiting out of frustration, I later started iTunes again, and haven't had any problems since... After a few days we should be able to tell whether this version was ready for release or not.

I should have never fallen for all the initial iTunes 7 release hype... There wasn't anything wrong with iTunes 6, but the prospect of self-downloading album art lured me in.
They just don't make things for tall people any more...

Seriously, they don't. Try buying a convertible if you're even just a few inches above average. You can't. And this microwave is indeed a back killer for anyone who would consider themselves tall.

Otherwise, it's quite stylish, and it cranks up to 11.
Once upon a time, I had a computer with dual 100 mb hard drives: I thought I would never fill them up... I was wrong. We'll find some new kinds of digital media to fill those drives right up. And the next generation can look at our weak 500 GB hard drives and laugh.
Indeed, most commercials that air these days are quite lame, and are better enjoyed at 60x speed so that they don't waste your time. The last line in your post holds true for me, however. I can recall a certain instance when I actually passed a commercial for Burger King (the first time I saw the "I am Man" ad) and then rewound to see what that giant burger I saw for a tenth of a second was all about...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
