Dude, it analyzes your songs...
I don't think it looks at BPM metadata tag.
Take the stairs you slackers!
Uhm, last I checked, the Dell 30" didn't have fancy TV inputs either.
On March 23rd Dell had a sale on the 3007WFP
$1499 (CANADIAN)

It has been this low before and I would suspect it will go that low again. I almost jumped at it but for some niggling issues I had...

Apple Store (Canada) has the 30" Cinema on for:
$2999 (regular)
$2799 (education)

Now I prefer the look of the Apple, and the slightly better colour sounds good. But that's a $1300 (!!!!) CDN price difference. Repeat after me, W... T... F

Even the *regular* Dell price of $2299 (CDN) is a DEEP discount compared to Apple!

Now if Apple (or anyone!) would guarantee me a perfect (no dead/stuck/bright/bunged-up pixels) monitor... ok *maybe* we could start talking.

-- ALL PRICES ABOVE ARE IN *CANADIAN* DOLLARS --
Uhmmm just because a game is capable of playing at "HD resolutions" doesn't mean it'll require HDCP.

HDCP is copy protection... why would games need HDCP?
Only protected content like TV/Movies will...
Just a further note re: XPostFacto I installed 10.3 on a Rev B iMac 233 no problem - no XPostFacto required... The machine is now running 10.3.9 like a champ. I have not tried installing Tiger (10.4) And it's probably worth your while to get the USB floppy drive - maybe get one cheap on eBay. Similarly you should be able to buy a 333MHz G3 from a later rev iMac and drop it in ... very cheap off eBay. Better to spend $40-50 than end up with a big paperweight. At least while it still works you can donate it and often get a tax receipt. That means money in your pocket people...
The power requirement when you update the iPod firmware is very likely for YOUR protection. If a firmware update failed due to power issues, then you'd be walking around with a big white walnut-masher instead of a cool digital audio player. ie. the iPod would be dead Requiring you to plug into the wall (or apparently FireWire) is just one step Apple likely takes to minimize that situation. Presumably it also saves them having to deal with half-baked firmware-fried iPods.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
