100% agreed. I love my Tivo HD but as it stands now, there's no way I can convince others to rationalize the huge expense. If they were to implement what Nilay suggests (ALL of which is spot on), I'd finally have a chance of spreading the gospel.
Yet another request to clarify what is meant by being able to make calls with the mic & the remote not being operable? Is it just the volume portion that isn't operable, with the clicker portion working like the stock apple iPhones?
This review is oddly vague given that this has been a top question of many people since the announcement that these "wouldn't work" with the iPhone. A clarification would help
Count me in as another happy Zivio Boom user who's mystified by this review. I think the sound quality of the unit is top notch and significantly better than other bluetooth units I've tried (I haven't tried the Jawbone). The magnetic earclip works perfectly for me and I like how adjustable it can be. It took me a while to find the right earpiece to attach to it (there are about 6 that come with it), but once I did, I've been quite happy with the fit.
For those considering this, don't let this review scare you away. Either they got a defective unit, or they had no idea how to use it properly. (I'm definitely leaning toward the latter given that the earclip is absolutely stuck to the wrong side on the picture in the gallery ;)
This title is quite misleading and should be changed. I remember reading a while back that this is made by Joby who also makes the Gorillapod (a great mini travel tripod). If the quality of the Gorillapod is any indication, this will be a great product.
It's been so long since the announcement of this that I was about to buy the new Jawbone. I think I'll give this a shot first since I really like the premise of the boom, with background noise being one of my biggest gripes about most BT headsets.
As of this morning, Tuesday, there's a 4 hour wait at the Chicago Apple Store, with the person on the phone saying there's "as many as possible" people doing activations.
This is just silly. Great call on changing up the iTunes activation system you used the first time around Steve. Way to work it through.
What's interesting, is the fact that them only being able to take 6 people at a time assumes that they only have 6 sales reps working on iPhones. This seems like a ridiculously low number of sales force to have committed to this. It would certainly explain the huge delays at the Apple Stores in light of their surplus inventories.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
