NEW???
My current ipod classic is a 160gig... and it's far from new!
This is the Iphone 3G Snow, not speed.
Very much like the new leopard... this is not speed leopard.
:)
Fine you?
Just wondering why 3.2megapixel? I am not saying go 12megapixel (even though that would be nice).
Are they using recycled 3.2megapixel lens from the mobile phone manufacturer who have moved on to better resolutions?

I know, I know... even if it was 1megapixel people would still buy the upgraded iphone when it comes out.
No quad core?
No core i7?
probably an old nvidia...

"make everyone go "ooh." "

ooh well.
Why do you assume that "pro" only means graphic designer? :)
If you are shooting videos in HD, a bluray burner would be welcomed.

3G?
Mobility is key to pro and 3G offers benefits... until they allow tethering on the iphone... ;)

They are not launching a new laptop but updating one? love the semantics... but it is still odd since they are here to make money... Asus, MSI and co must be so happy to be able to rule their market without having to worry about Apple! Read the rest of the post... what's the general feeling? not too positive...Even if this laptop sells well, it won't take a huge chunk of the pie.

I knew the role of Schiller. Love the guy, love the stunts... this was rhetoric this time.
So we agree that this is not a pro machine (no 3g, no quad core, no fancy graphics, no bluray burner, no removable battery).
That the design - like it or hate it - is modern and cold as ice.
That it's the kind of portable that will get you mugged if you show it in the train (the price of this laptop is more than what they have in banks these days).
That in this day and age launching a "VIP" laptop seems odd compared the success of the eee, wind and co...
But come on! is anyone surprised? Apple has a reputation to live up to! The fake video of the Apple Wheel says it all...
At Apple it doesn't matter what the product is as long as you have the guy to sell it and the fanboy (or girl) to bite the bullet.
Marketing is all.
Btw what's the speciality of Philip W. Schiller?
You're missing the point, everyone wants an iphone (some more secretely than others lol ) but as soon as you have competition, you have better deals. Same as MACs... really nice... not cheap since their is no competition (beyond osx86)... but nice.
Unless you work for Apple or Orange, I am sure you can appreciate this.
First the french complained it was locked...
http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/17/orange-to-sell-unlocked-iphone-in-france/

Now they complain about providers... and they get things done!

It's like V (for vendetta) said...
People should not be affraid of manufacturers, manufacturers should be affraid of them. Or something like that...

And no it's not going to spread... no one else has the balls or the stamina to take the fight to Apple.
Similar problem... when I select a friend and try to go back to the menu... boom! freeze!
I have an elite, so not overly old console.
Oh and also, I had a weird problem with gears 2. I completed it, decided to copy on the drive, play it fine. Next time I load it, I select my save game, click A to start.. nothing, try another save, same... go to training mode, escape training mode, go to the save... works... so weird.

Still I can play games... so I kind of hope that an update will come soon and fix the lot.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
