Well looks like this isnt going to happen...
Who actually buys a Microsoft OS?
@GSI

Yeah, my Wii will be here on my desk with my new Mac Pro :)
My 2407WFP awaits you Wii....
@Rev Otto

1: Intel Macs no longer use a "Bios" it's an EFI.

2: A swap to merom has already been down on an Intel iMac and Mini. The chips works just fine, albeit OS X doesnt know what it is. Once Apple updates OS X upon getting the new CPU's this shouldnt be an issue.
@ o rly: "Yes, because some people prefer to use a superior product."

How can a product be superior when it is just now getting something the competitor has had for what? 3 years now? Please.

Dan:

Blu-ray 2x is roughly equivelent to 7x DVD. So it isn't that slow. If you think 2x is akin to the CD-ROM days you need a refresher course.
You are all making comparisons to hard drives. I find this to be quite ridiculous.

If hard drives were the way to go, then I would be walking around with about 3 right now. Putting then into a hard drive player. Oh and my shelf would be full of about 50 hard drives too.

Optical media obviously still has a place in the market, otherwise we be carrying hard drives around.
Maybe Apple price the Mac Pro like this, to make way for something new in the lineup. They only have one MacPro which you configure. Instead of 3 like before.

Apple is clearly changing their lineup and I think they will introduce a new between mini and pro consumer very soon.

Stop getting pissed people, no one knows if they will or not. Just be patient.
Engadget. You should look into a whiners filter.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
