It isn't a capitalistic market. The nature of wireless communication, where are are only a limited number of frequencies, prevents the market from being a free one. There are only a fixed number of resources that the government licenses to the highest bidder! The government is involved from the very first step, thats why the prices are so high. If you want to expose real free market pressure on the carriers, make all the frequencies public domain. Then, see the carriers crying to the government that their wireless networks don't work cause of interference!
How the hell can the PS3 cost so much? The cell is how many years old? The graphics is how many years old? Blue ray drives only cost 60 dollars for gods sake! You can probably build a pc with blueray(without the monitor or OS) for less than 300 thats more powerful than the freaking PS3!!!!
It needs a 6 cell battery and the 1.4ghz CULV processor.
The keyboard isn't edge to edge? WTF?
why do they keep making cheap laptops 15 inches? Would it make more sense for the cheaper ones to have smaller screens?
I don't see this working unless they:
Change to an ARM processor.
Make it 10 inches.
Reduce price to 250.
The proper way for apple to handle this would be to charge for a version of Itunes that will recognize mp3s and treat them as mass storage devices. Then, apple can accuse Palm of stealing and public opinion will be turned against palm.
Why is it stuck with that horrible graphics chip? Where is ion? Also, the 1.6ghz model is inefficient I heard. The best model would be the 1.3ghz model that has a tpd of 8watts.
Actually, the thing missing from linux is simplicity. If you have a problem, good luck fixing it yourself. You'll need to hire a linux guru.
Forget Dell. What about crunchpad? This OS seems to be perfect for the crunchpad.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
