That was my first thought too. However, when the screen refreshes you can still see a hint of the "background" image, so I would say that it's a transparent overlay on top of the screen, rather than something *behind* the e-ink panel.
I have the 6" Cybook Gen3, and I must say, I wouldn't mind it being just a little bit smaller - it fits ok into some jacket pockets, but not others - more pocket-ability would be a definite plus. This model has the same resolution as mine, which, given its smaller screen, means a higher PPI - 200 as opposed to 166, I believe. (Mine has the same screen as the Sony Reader, Kindle 1, &c.). I think that higher PPI would be a definite plus, frankly, as it means crisper text and images, particularly at the smaller font sizes.
If you're the grammar police, how come you didn't point out that it should be "...he took some CUES...", not "queues"?

You are, however, totally right about ROMs being superior. But, of course, if you're going to use ROMs, you don't really need a dedicated device - just play them on your phone, computer, or other portable gaming system!

Still, the remnants of my childhood self cannot help but marvel at such a sexy portable Super Nintendo - I'd trade my Game Gear for it! (Probably)
It has a USB port, you can plug in any USB keyboard you want.
"in addition to 1TB of storage, you've got three 3.5-inch hot swappable bays"

I'd say the fourth is already taken up by a 1TB drive when you buy it, based on this.
Don't you see? they're playing both sides of the market - making it possible for us to fight back, thus prolonging the war for increased profits. It fills in the question marks!

1. Robot uprising
2. TOTAL WAR
3. ???
4. Profit!
Of course, all of these problems could also be explained by the rover being upside down.
Come on guys, surely a better headline for this would have been "Moon-men invade Washington, march to White House!"
I tend to assume that whatever Telstra executives come out and say is arse-backwards wrong. Consequently, I can only assume that Telstra's new Android phone is going to be an unmitigated piece of crap, which is a pity, because I'd love to see an Android phone even more impressive than the Pre, which I think is pretty damn nice.

However, the other thing to consider is that Telstra being Telstra, I wouldn't be surprised to see them launching the G1 6 months after it came out in the USA. In fact, that's probably pretty quick for them, all things considered. And when you consider the exec's dismissal of the Pre "which at this stage looks nice but is still not delivered to market." it sounds almost like he's contrasting with a product that HAS been released to the market, somewhere. Although the article does say that "The screen is believed to be bigger than current offerings from HTC.", it could be referring to current offerings from HTC in Australia, which would be true - the G1 has a bigger screen than the Diamond & Touch Pro.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is; I wouldn't get TOO excited, you're getting this information from a Telstra executive. I'd sooner trust tech leaks from my grandmother.
No, the processor inside the Pre is Texas Instrument's latest OMAP chip.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
