"On the AMD side it looks like the tech was introduced with the Athlon 64 and has continued in most newer chips..."

No, not by a long shot, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD-V#AMD_virtualization_.28AMD-V.29 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_64_microprocessors. It was first introduced with the Socket AM2 Athlon 64 X2s, and there are still plenty of socket 754 and 939 CPUs around that don't support it. I have two.
This came up my RSS reader right underneath a story about the new farting character in Noby Noby Boy :)
There's almost no point in posting these stories. OSX86 has got to a point where you can get it to boot, and install it, on pretty much any machine released in the last couple of years, or likely to be released in the next 6 to 12 months. That often about as far as you'll get, having non working sound is almost a given, closely followed by wifi, ethernet, etc, making it pretty much unusable.

Now, if you could install the latest hacked OSX release, and have video, sound, all forms of networking, sleep (and other ACPI related stuff) all working perfectly, and easily apply software updates without breaking any of the above, *then* post a story about it :)
RTFA, it says that the publicly available release of iTunes 7.7 will have the store activation mode built in. Interestingly it says that this too will be out on July 11th.
Err, they've actually been accepting sign ups for a while. I signed up a few months ago, still not heard anything :(
Sounds like fun!
@39

I live in the UK, and have quite a selection of consoles (but no HDTV :( ). I can tell you that RGB Scart is always noticeably better than composite on my 21" Sony TV.
You'll find that many Nintendo products leave the codename abbreviation in the part numbers (Gamecube was originally Dolphin, all part numbers start DOL. N64, originally Ultra 64, part numbers begin NUS).
@Herman & Arnette

Yeah, a whole 6 days later than Japan, that's really fucking terrible [/sarcasm]
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
