I love my iPod touch, I love my iMac... and I love my Droid!
To those complaining about this being in the cloud:

I personally use things like photoshop offline, but for the most part, if my internet connection is dead, I get up and walk away from the computer anyway... I will keep my Mac for real work, my PC for media center, but something like this on a laptop would be awesome... if my internet connection is down, I am not going to get on the laptop anyway, so it doesn't change a thing for me and for most other people who never even use any apps that can't be run online... and they will probably have offline mode for a lot of webapps in the coming years... and if you are using a laptop with 3G (or 4G soon enough) in addition to WiFi, there is little chance of not having some kind of connection.
"Its just a Copy of linux..meh."

os x is also just a copy of Unix
I preordered at best buy. One store nearby said no, they would not honor it, but the other store said as long as i either print out my account screen showing the final cost being $99 ($299 - $100 instant rebate - $100 NE2 discount) or log into my account there in front of them and show it to them, they will match it...

as soon as it's up on verizon's site, I am printing that out and walking in friday for my $99 phone ($35 of which will be paid for with reward zone certificates)

I need to find out if I can use my rewardzone certificates on this... I have $35 that start expiring in december... not much, but $165 is less than $200...
looks like the nook will be outdated pretty quickly with this news...

Don't you mean your Eclair? :)
I haven't used anything but a Mac since 2002. I got so tired of problems in Windows... but...

Very soon I am building my own Windows 7 box... looks to be a very good OS from the little I've played around with it, and I can build an awesome loaded media box, cheaper than a mac mini...

There is a place for both OS X and Windows, and Windows 7/MS deserves some praise for overcoming the negative press Vista brought to the Windows brand...
Every other major phone manufacturer makes a different (CDMA) version for Verizon, so why wouldn't Apple? Especially to get another 65 million potential customers? To think they'd choose T-Mobile over Verizon seems ridiculous. If anything, they will probably choose Verizon AND T-Mobile... they want to make money after all...
These are pretty cool in my opinion. Yeah I can get a big hi res monitor for about the same price, but this is USB, and just a little extra real estate for things like toolbars in photoshop, or my IM program, thing that normally get in my way but I need them open all the time... I can have 2-3 real monitors for my work, and one of these down below my screen for those little things...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
