I guess i meant it in the way that it would be nice if technology came out that was so good it obsoleted what came before.

So what are the fail rates on 5 platter drives vs regular 2-3 platter designs.
2TB would just be the maxiumum of the spec, by the time they could produce 2tb sticks a better spec would be written.
