Erm. Chrome on a netbook sucks, can't see this being any better.
And yes, before you ask - tried it, and is pointless having any other OS rather than W7 on a netbook, or any other PC for that matter!
Just get Musical Fidelity V-DAC for 200$, and hook it up to your PC. It features the same burr-browns, and you will get the same sound quality for a fraction of the cost! Plus you get to use your favourite music software, and can type in your searches!
Just checking to see if I managed to verify my account!
Netvertible! This is shocking!
I can't see this being revolutionary or aspirational at all. It will be running Android like a number of other phones, and the hardware can't be that unique either! Because, all good smartphones these days look the same - big touch screen covering most of the surface of the device and possibly a slide-out keyboard.
@looneydvd - you are a lucky lucky person. Ever considered playing lottery?
(typing this on my dilapidated 1.5 year old satellite....)
Yes, my eee is 10x better build quality than the toshiba laptop I purchased at the similar time. And the laptop cost 5x as much as the eee!
What will the new company be called? Ashiba? Toshus?
yes, and it sucks, just like any other copy of linux!
Looks like an AAA battery with a plastic surround and an apple connector?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
