I ditched my BlackBerry for an iPhone about a year ago. Terrible decision if you send and receive a lot of emails or texts. The iPhone is just plain sluggish.

Switched back to a BlackBerry 3 months later and am happy again.

There are different frequencies used for GSM. Most countries use GSM 900/1800. The US and Canada use 850/1900. A "global" phone on CDMA will typically have 900/1800 to accommodate most countries but not include 850/1900.

As of right now, the built-in GPS on my Blackberry 8830 doesn't meet their "minimum technical standard" so it has been disabled by them. There is probably very little hope that anything at all will change in 2008.
