When they say that it's "the only product in its class to include a connector for an external antenna", what exactly do they mean?

I know for a fact that the USB720 and USB727 USB Modems offered currently by Verizon Wireless have external antenna connectors.
@ Jeff:
Really? I mean, you prefer getting an adapter to plug into the port on your phone, then leaving your phone by the speakers/stereo that'll likely drown out any ring or vibrate the phone would do in a phone call.

To me, having a device that would sync up with my phone when in close quarters with the stereo, and would allow me to simply choose the music I have stored on my phone and bam, it comes out of the speakers, is a great thing.

And then, I can feel my phone vibrate during a phone call. So instead of walking over to the stereo to pick up my phone, I can just pull it out of my pocket.
@ guerro:
Likely the issue you ran into is that when you signed your contract, it was a standard ETA. That won't change. Just the same as you are tied into your plan, you are tied into your ETA because those were the terms and conditions you agreed to at the time.

Current contracts from that last year have been prorated.

Solution? See if changing your price plan (which doesn't add anything to your contract because of the new Worry Free Guarantee) brings your ETA to prorated. From what I've seen, it does. :)
Remind me again why they are focusing on WiMax? Customer retention sounds more important to me...
I didn't realize Indianapolis had one yet. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. :D
I believe the favored phrase is "Better late than never."

I'm not one to fear-monger, but doesn't this have the ability to become a dirty bomb fairly easily?

I mean, that's if it has real nuclear material in it, and even if it doesn't, I'm sure whatever it is using as a catalyst isn't safe if it were to be used in nefarious ways.
I don't know. I hate how Google has press releases saying that they are going to do something unconventional and it never goes anywhere.

The free Wifi program they launched is still only in San Francisco. The transcontinental data connection hasn't even started construction.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Google is great on the software end of things. But outside of that, they seem to create a lot of projects that never go anywhere.

Oh, and it's going to take a while for this to be profitable for Google. The average joe is going to stick with the major carriers until Google has proven itself. Which is exactly the reason why Helio and Ampd Mobile went nowhere in a hurry. Google has the money to make things great, but they also need the customers to believe in their product. And while 100,000 technologically literate people may sign up at launch, it'll be a hard sell to the typical consumer.

Why fix something that isn't broken (for them anyway)?
Oooh Oooh Oooh. Pick me, pick me... MEEEEEEEE...

@Flashpoint: I look at your posts and all I see is blah blah Bush, blah blah war crimes, blah...

I thought your type never posted on message boards and blogs for fear 'The Man' would come get you for saying what you believe everyone in America thinks...

I think you need to adjust your tin foil hat... It's not cutting off circulation yet.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
