I would think that cold-fusion would be the holy grail of green power.....
This is the same as a game for linux (at least i was able to find it in ubuntu) called Konquest. Great game
Hey
For a while I trained at a forum that helped people with malware problems such as these and used software such as mentioned here, along with hijackthis, to diagnose certain problems and fix them. Let me just warn you
these programs (combofix and smitfraudfix) should not be taken and used lightly, they are very complex programs and if used incorrectly, you could really screw up a computer
Quote from bleepingcomputer.com-
"Due to the power of this tool it is strongly advised that you do not attempt to act upon any of the information displayed by ComboFix without supervision from someone who has been properly trained. If you do so, it may lead to problems with the normal functionality of your computer."
hey so i did what you said and everything seems to work fine! i mean it took a hell of a long time but it did work. though for some reason the first time i tried to install the update it failed, so i stopped a couple of programs (av, firewall, antispyware) and then it worked!
well i looked on avg's website and it said it was only compatible with sp2, it didnt mention sp3 and thats why im kind of nervous to go and download it.
is it a good idea to update to sp3 if you have antivirus software because as far as i know, none of them are compatible with sp3 yet. I know avg(what i have) is not. should i try to update anyway and see what happens?
I got my pair (HD 485) about 6 months ago for about $60 and im very happy with them. the sound quality is really great and especially the bass which is so amazing. Also they are extreemely comfortable. the downsides are
1) they are open air designed, which means that people around you can hear lots of what your listening too (not so private)
2) they might make you look a bit funny, but its definitely worth it :)
Hey
I would like to say thank you to Engadget for numerous reasons (these are the same reasons why all of you guys should stop ranting about the ad)
1. You (Engadget editors) admitted to the ad and the problems it may cause and doing that is an incredibly noble thing to do.
2. Not only did you admit to to hosting a debatably annoying ad, you gave a long list of ways to remedy and block the ad, some of which included using adblockers such as adblock plus which directly take away from the site's revenue. Additionally, instead of criticizing users of adblock plus, like that blog that you guys reported on which blocked firefox, you said, "Do what you think is right". This is the main reason why i love Engadget, you guys are consistently loyal to your readers.
Thanks Engadget keep up the great work!
Well there are a couple of things i have seen in the comments so far that i would like to address.

1) it has been asked why choose Firefox and disregarding the issue of safety and that it is a hell of a lot more customizable, it is so much easier to install. You can just have the latest install file on a flash drive and install it in maybe 30 seconds. with IE7 you need to go to the Microsoft website or windows update and spend 10 minutes just validating that the copy of windows is legit and then it takes 15-30 min to install IE7 in a process which looks like brain surgery. To put it simple, it is just tons easier.

2) There was a comment above by Pat Cahalan which I disagree with 100%. There is no reason to format your hard drive if all you have is a malware infection. There are so many websites out there which specialize in malware removal and have specific forums in which people who have infections get free help from experts. When I say expert I really mean it because I have seen what they do and it is incredible how much they know about the effects of malware. It is amazing how they can perfectly clean a computer that is so trashed and infected that it seems to be heading to the dumps. Some examples of these websites include Geekstogo.com and Castlecops.com.

Thanks for listening
webcam is good enough
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
