Apparently the social engineering is not on the gamers themselves but on the Live customer service. They call up a bunch of times, getting little bits of information each time, and build from there with a different sob story each time. I only hope the customer service guys log these things and can find them out easily. If not, then we're all fucked.
I'm the same as Dasgooch. Everything's been peachy for mine. I've left it for longer than that a number of times (both plugged into USB 1.1, 2.0, a 360 and the wall charger), and stays as gorgeous and cool as ever.
This is exactly what I see as the problem with press coverage of Microsoft vs. Apple, most notably with gadgets.

Apple updates a product with new features and new hardware, and the press accepts it as a new model of the product.
Microsoft updates a product with new features and new hardware, and the press talks about the early adopters they left behind, and how this is a new product within the line.

The catch-22 is that they couldn'tve released a bigger harddrive version of Zune at CES without the press bringing up the early adopters, and yet they're criticized for not having a bigger harddrive player or a flash player. Go figure.

Most people are fine with the functionality of their current 360s. There's nothing revolutionary in this upgrade (anyone who needs an HDMI port and a bigger harddrive can most likely afford to replace their 360), and IPTV can be pushed through a software upgrade, no hardware needed.

I expected better of you, Engadget.

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
