The fact that one huge company can own the pipes that deliver information to the largest number of Americans as well as a lion's share of content that goes through those pipes just pisses me off.

Call me whatever you want, but it just annoys me to no end.
@kyle:

"for tv shows that you can keep."
It'd be heavily DRM-ed, bro. You can only keep them as long as you're within the iTunes ecosystem, presumably.
Hey, the song is actually Felix Da Housecat *remixing* Nina Simone's "Sinnerman"

Hopefully, this will be better thought-out than their previous Google Video service.

And hopefully it will be a little innovative: Right now, in the US, Lala seems to be the innovative music service to beat for purchasing/storing and Zune Pass looks to be the best option in the subscription department.
Well said. But, unfortunately I highly-doubt OLPC or even a gov't program like this would even get one foot in Washington DC without some cable news networks yelling that it's "Socialized Education"
Good article! Hopefully the next phase of Project Black is simply a re-branding of T-Mobile - though that may be odd considering they'd probably want to re-brand in other countries, too.

I'd love to have $50 unlimited plan for T-Mobile, but the first thing that comes to mind if that happens is... AT&T Wireless-style network reliability. And we know how well that strategy works out.
2.) Make it a phone that's NOT exclusive to AT&T
Agreed. Imagine a silver brushed-metal Zune HD sitting beside your brushed-metal Macbook, or in my case iMac. Sounds nice!

So, developers, when can we expect a Mac OS hack? :)

Also, Joshua, your review was really really comprehensive and very well-done. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of the good and bad of Zune HD.
"The 'settings' menu also allows Zune users to tailor the device for US, European, or Japanese radio frequencies." (Ars Technica's Zune HD Review)

I know you probably want it right now, but the fact that Zune HD has European and Japanese radio settings might imply that it will soon be sold there. Or that they expect their users to be jet-setters :)
I ask once again:

Where's the petition I need to sign to encourage Microsoft to bring this thing to Mac OS?

I would ask who do I need to sleep with to bring this to Mac OS, but I'm sure someone would suggest Ballmer. And I just don't feel like being dominated in bed by a big burly dude right now :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
