I just bought the Linksys power-line adapters and couldn't be happier.

Not only does it support up to 200mbps, is easier than a toaster to use (absolutely no software to install/configure) - it even has a 128-bit encryption mode if you're creating a virtual wired network alongside others. - I got it at Sam's Club with a 1-port unit (to bridge Ethernet to Powerline) and a 4-port 'remote' switch for ~$160.

I'm running business-grade (G.711) VoIP from a distant home-office over it and it couldn't be better.
I have just received my 4th Intel Atom based NetBook and feel I can comment with a strong basis.

The best NetBook made today is the Acer AspireOne by a high-margin.
+ The price is unbelievable : I paid ~$360 via CDW
+ The keyboard is perfect layout and comfortable for touch typing
+ The performance is excellent
+ The multi-media capabilities far outpace all Asus Eee's and MSI Wind for Video IP Telephony
+ Manufactured by Quanta; no wonder it feels like a Mac

- The battery life needs help, go-on add $50 to the price, we can afford it
- Make it easier to buy/find that sexy blue one

The 9" Eee's are too small to type and too big to thumb. Their SSD's are poor; this writeup coming to you from a MacBook Air-SSD; two different leagues.

The 10" Eee is nice to type on, it really is - and in fact, I'm sending that one to my boss. - It's my #2.

The Linux load on the Eee's is pretty weak. WEP/WPA is very limiting for business use (WPA/WPA2 Enterprise with PEAP please !) - StarOffice crashes every time I launch it.

Mine just arrived; bought it from Gammoth in Madison, WI for $128 total.

What an unboxing experience - very nicely done, jewel case and matte black,, it says it needs to charge for 50 minutes and I'm overly cautious about battery memory from my NiCd days, so won't know how it sounds until this afternoon - then I'll jump in my convertible to see how it performs under the worst wind noise possible. mstsc /admin

This replaces /console in XP-Sp3/Vista-Sp1 & Win2008 Server as well.

Please try to provide metrics or otherwise objectify your opinions -

Our benchmark desktop, an HP xw4600 'out of the box' using the HP OEM Windows XP Pro preload booted from "Post" (the BIOS screen which when it clears begins loading NTLRDR on a single-boot system) to a fully loaded desktop. (no more tray icons/delayed start items processing)

We saw an improvement from 33 seconds on SP2 to 21 seconds on SP3.

This same 33% improvement was seen on our corporate image as well. - We attribute much of this to the performance & stability hotfixes which came out about 2-3 months ago, but the fact that we don't need to apply 90+ security updates independently sure is nice as well.

Interested in others who have Winbench/WinMark or any other reference to a before/after comparison.

Viva Sp3 !
Interesting technical stat from the ColorWare website :

64GB solid-state drive @4200rpm

Wow - Can't they spin those NAND chips any faster ?
Might that be a bootable flash-drive running the SplashTop ? -- I'm not intending to be a Debbie-Downer, but if so - it's not so much a magical feat of the EeePC. - But if it's using something like HyperSpace (http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/06/phoenix-technologies-launches-hyperspace-instant-on-embedded-o/) while-then,, that's really cool - I want to buy one today !
