Yeah, I guess you're right it has been out since '04, which explains why it is only 720p. So tell me this, what is all that "Full HD" the press release is talking about? I realize it is all marketing, but come on marketers should not misuse marketing catch phrases. But at least for 13 grand it will embrace my SD-DVDs with a "prismatic lighting effect."
I have had a 37" Vizio LCD from Costco since Jan. and it is awesome. It does the best job with SD that I have seen. Halo 3 beta and Gears look great running through VGA at 720p. True you can pay a lot more money for a Sharp or a Sony but at this point why would you? No matter what you buy in 6-12 months it will be old tech clearance priced for half of what you paid. I am glad I didn't buy the $1500 32" Sony Bravia partial HD (sarcasm) that only does a pathetic, eye-crushingly horrible to look at, disgusting 720p or 1080i. ;)
Those videos are pretty impressive for a $300 video camera.
Apple is not going to use their stock to find a mole! This is not Hollywood. Do you not think Apple would have the foresight to know that an announcement this detrimental would have a dramatic impact on their stock?! They are not going to use their shareholders' money and good faith to sort out their internal email privacy problems. Engadget is not liable because they have shown journalistic due-diligence throughout the life of the story.
@ZippyDSMlee

Did you seriously just request auto-aim? I personally think RPGs would be more fun if they had "auto-run-to-the-objective" but that wold kind of defeat the purpose of the game wouldn't it?
I had to update my CC info then it worked fine. BTW Tombstone is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! I am naming my firstborn child Certain Affinity. Hate to rub it in to those of you having trouble, but hang in there it is worth it.
I am on my first 360 with no problems what so ever. Everyone seems to know someone with 360 issues but no one I know has had any problem. But we all got ours several months after the launch. I wonder if it is just the launch consoles that are being plagued with the "ring of death" which I think would be more aptly the three-quarters-ring-of-death. Because what happens when the 4th one lights up red? Nuclear meltdown? Event Horizon? Puppies and kitties blasting out the DVD drive!? I want to know!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
