Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies

I'd love a Zune! *Engadget FTW*
I suggest to offer a "No vote" feature since Gaming will be a [an unapproved] pratice that will happen. No vote returns editorial control to the people.

Another suggest, improve the votes to be like PageRank based, where higher ranked, authoritative users carry more weight in terms of Vote/No Vote. This again is fair and democratic. (Digg, feel free to steal this idea!).

Kevin Rose ought to take some notes on Loving your Members (http://www.calacanis.com/2006/07/02/high-and-low-or-how-to-love-members-shall-i-count-the-ways/). Digg clearly did not anticipate the needs ('nor the respect) of the top Diggers. Oops, looks like they dropped the ball on this one, and it rolled on over to Netscape's corner.

Well, if you get it; you should get it for your top 20 NS Contributors :-P.

$800 is quite hefty and when you can embrace the Open Source community and build yourself a MythTV (http://www.mythtv.org/) or a GeeXboX (http://geexbox.org/en/index.html). Free and could be built on the cheap, compared to the $800 TiVo.
Discussion and exploding of issues are great. You see Jason, the audience of your blog are not the source of the "problem". We pretty much can behave and discuss issues. Its the "Clusterfuck Commentary" that I observe in almost every single political post that turns me off. What do I mean by that; it is the commenters who sling insults, go off-topic, and simple flame-bait the posts. It may not be the majority, but the majority gets view of the bad apples and it reflects on all the users and the post itself.

Perhaps, what Netscape needs, are some message boards. Perhaps, a few more "editors" (god forbid I drop the "Moderator" term here).

The obstacle in fixing this, is that you can't stop people from acting inappropriate online. It is the feeling of anonymity which is their security blanket, it is the fact that on the Internet, people just sound off as if they had a couple six-packs and go wild on posts.

Is it just me, or do others observe the same behaviors in the Politics section of the NS website? I obviously vote with my mouse, and well, I hover in the Tech section. :-)
Jason - You raise a valid point. Even though professionally I never raise flags about politics/religion as it can definitely reflect on you personally (in a negative) way if someone disagrees. All in all, good job raising the flag on this one.

Peter - That was an insightful comment. If conservatives would hold their own against liberal bloggers. You gotta be thick-skinned to blog/discuss online as [anyone] in an Internet argument will often transition the main subject away and make personal attacks. Bam! You win. Another thing, people like myself, who aren't well informed about politics would like see both sides of a topic. The problem in accomplishing that, the what I call, Clusterfuck Commentary that Netscape members seem to do. They go balls-to-the-wall wild on Political posts, and posting heavily biased postings is that it leaves little room for a Conservative to give their insight. Netscape isn't designed for that. Netscape is designed for quick retorts on subjects. Netscape isn't alone. If people want to discuss/fight/skew the public, then do so on a Message Board, not a news site. Basically, I can validate your point, that it is pointless to fight with Liberals online as it goes nowhere. However, Jason's call to action is that to have other Conservatives be transparent, show their values, interact with the blogging world.

Personally, I am Conservative, although you can say I lean left on _many_ issues. Living in Arizona, and border security is a top concern for me. I respect both sides of the 'argument'/discussion. I don't think it's a bad thing; but I mean, its my views.
I'm not sure. I guess Calacanis isn't loud enough. Amanda from Rocketboom never even politely declined his offer; or anything.

I think Netscape has enough SEO talent I think - but heck why not let Netscape be authoritative in a SEO blog featuring Danny? Ideas ideas... :)
Awesome implementation. Nice improvements also with the Submitting stories procedure. Keep it up! :)
