It looks like you BYOSDC (bring your own SD Card), and the kiosk loads the movie on for you. I think this would be a decent idea for RedBox, which already uses kiosks for distributing movies, and RedBox's kiosks are usually in more convenient locations.

The question I have is if this thing is supposed to work with existing cell phones and TV's, what type of DRM can it be using? Does your phone or TV have to have some type of "PlaysForSure"-type of DRM software to be able to deal with it?
Sorry, I guess it would help if I would read the actual blurb where it says that the iPhone app is just an approval away.

Still, it didn't link to any other stories saying that there is an iPhone app in the works, and I really haven't seen any on Engadget or else where.
Has it been said anywhere at all that the new navigation features are available for any non-Android 2.0 devices?

I haven't seen that anywhere.

I'd actually really like to know. If I can get the new features on my Blackberry that would be great.
Something's screwed up in the Amazon listings. Why is it that the one that costs $659 has more RAM (and otherwise identical specs) than the one that costs $699? If I wanted to buy it today, I wouldn't be able to, because I don't want to pay more fr an inferior product, but I also don't know if there's some specs that haven't been listed, or if the prices or specs are just swapped.
Oh, and the ASRock Ion box sells for $379 on newegg.com as a barebones box. That means no OS pre installed. If you want Linux, then it's probably better that way, but if you want Windows then you're going to have to pony up for it. The EEE Box will most likely come with a Home version of Win 7.

Also, the ASRock box does not have wireless built-in. Not a big deal for some people (my home is wired throughout, so I'd be fine), but it is important for many people. So no, the ASRock box does not have the same specs for the same price.
We don't know about the price for the EEE Box yet, so pricing is just speculation. Obviously availability is an issue if the ASRock box is out now and the EEE Box obviously isn't.

But since when is it a bad thing to have similar products from other vendors?
Since I've never won anything from an Engadget giveaway, I'd like to win this one, please.

Thanks!
Back to the arguments over OLED lifespan, I could be wrong, but I believe these things are measured in the number of hours before a display element has half the brightness it had originally, not the time until it's completely dead, so 20,000 hours isn't even the entire lifetime of the display. Of course, one of the other problems of OLEDs has been that different colors die off at different rates, so the colors start looking funky.
I actually did d/l YouMail after seeing it in AppWorld this afternoon. After playing with it for a while, I saw this article, so I dumped YouMail and went for the official stuff. I'd rather have the official service from my regular provider than go through a 3rd party hack. Not that YouMail is bad for other phones that don't have an official VVM, though. I'd just rather have the officially supported version.
It looks like the deal is that you buy the Plaszma SDK, and get the zii for free (if you want to call that free... it seems to be the other way around to me). It also says that the Zii supports Android, but that Plaszma makes the most out of the graphics capabilities.

I'd say it's pretty clear that it runs Plaszma out of the box.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
