iPhone camping rule of thumb: don't wear a suit {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2008 10:53PM When I went in to my local softbank store a couple of weeks ago they had a waiting list you could sign up for. The store didn't know how many were going to be shipped so they weren't garanteeing that being on it would get you one.
It would be great if the Harajuku store was doing the same thing and all these people just didn't go in and ask.

Btw-The zork games are freely downloadable now. I also found "hitchhickers guide" awhile back and played it using frotz. I can seem to find the original download link for hitchhikers, but here are some treats:
Frotz (Infocom game emulator platform?):

And found this "Php Zork":

Aug 19th 2007 11:07PM No an RSS user and I voted NO.
For international users, like myself, who don't read on the US time schedule it just creates unnessary filler.
I agree that it wouldn't be a bad idea to put it on a separate page, but I don't want it on the main page.

802.11n creeps closer to finality as Draft 2.0 reaches milestone {Engadget}
Mar 14th 2007 10:01PM WIMAX and WLAN are not direct competitors.
As I understand WIMAX requires licensed specturm, where WLAN is unlicensed.
So, the only one going to give you WIMAX is your carrier. (And I'm sure everyone is happy with thier current billing and service)
While with WLAn, you still can put a 802.11n hotspot in your home and share that with your neighbors.
I could be wrong, but I don't see WIMAX replacing WLAN in anyway in the future, unless a version that uses unlicensed spectrum comes out.
Speeder Reader: Drive your way to better reading skills {Engadget}
Mar 9th 2006 8:11PM Read about something similar last year.

Who among us doesn't enjoy spending a lazy afternoon by sliding into the drivers seat, wrapping one hand around the wheel, the other around the stick, and settling in for an exhilarating speed reading session? Well believe it or not, former Xerox PARCer Maribeth Back has found that using controls analogous to driving allows people to read on-screen text more than twice as fast as they could through traditional left-to-right scanning. Back presented the results of trials involving her reading-cum-driving simulator, the Speeder Reader, at this week's O'Reilly's Emerging Technology conference, where she described how streaming text to a fixed spot on the screen allows the reader to eliminate "white space" and ingest words more efficiently. A person "driving" the Java-powered Speeder Reader uses the gas pedal to adjust the pace of the word flow, the steering wheel to change "text lanes" (streaming sources) and the stick and several other buttons for more minor tweaks. Now this is a trend we like to see -- car sims for reading class, DDR action in gym -- pretty soon, kids may be able to play video games all day long in school just like they do all night at home.

Predictions for 2006? {Engadget}
Jan 3rd 2006 5:19AM HD-DVD, Blu-Ray?
Am I the only one who thinks a measly 20-30gigs isn't enough anymore, when we already are carrying 60gig ipods around?
Anyway, with seamless access to the internet who needs to carry around media anymore? With EVDO (or upcoming WiMax) and a networked drive you can access all your data anytime/anywhere.
Media prices are in destined for a downward spiral, while connection speed increases are not going to stop anytime soon. (I've already got 100Mps FTTH)
Portable media is dead! Ubiquitous access for 2006!
(Honestly though, it may take a little longer...2007?)
