There is a limited selection of FREE HD shows (at least as of now), so you don't need to have a "few bucks to spare" to try it out.
Ok, I would buy the streaming is cheaper argument if people stream movies *instead* of requesting physical discs. But I suspect that many stream movies *in addition to* receiving discs.
Yes, tiered pricing depending on type of usage (in addition to frequency of usage) is defensible. But then Netflix should give me a discount for not wanting to use *any* type of video streaming. If not, then I am subsidizing all those people using the video streaming service ...
I agree re: saturation. The small percentage of consumers buying BD players may exceed the number of consumers buying DVD players. Not because BD players are or will be more popular than DVD players, but just because everybody already has a DVD player.
Those week-to-week stats are the stupidest thing ever. Weekly sales are so heavily influenced by titles released, so they're bound to be all over the place. They don't really indicate any meaningful trend.

Yeah, looks like the settings on the panels might have been configured to emphasize black level differences. I can't believe properly calibrated modern LCD panels are that sh*tty with black levels. Especially that Samsung LED LCD -- it's supposed to do quite well with black.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
