@(Unverified) Or you basically just tell it to check for new books twice as often or less
@Seahound

Yea the saying that came to my mind is "when it rains, it pours".

Don't have an internet connection? Good luck.
I think this will probably be the phone to replace my iPhone. Now to decide if I should upgrade early and stay on ATT or switch to Tmobile in a few months?
Why does every pic at BGR have the leather back? Are there multiple backplates perhaps? I like that retro look.
The problem here is that even if the number of "useful" apps remains at 1-2%, 1-2% of 100,000 is somewhere between 1000 and 2000. That is more apps than you can even bother getting on the Pre, and more than enough apps to keep any one person buying happy.

Not every app will ever be for everybody, that's just a fact of life. It is nice to have the variety that the App store offers, regardless if 100,000 apps is a useful statistic.
As someone who uses Prime, though not in any of the cities with the new same-day option, I have to say I like the deal. Sure, if I needed to buy diapers, it is probably not the best deal, though if I wanted something like a monitor or a TV or something that is a little more expensive, I don't think 6 extra dollars is bad at all. This is even more true when you consider that Amazon does not collect sales tax and that you are probably getting a better deal to start with. The more I think about it this is actually a great deal. Lets say you are traveling on business and you are in NY for two nights you realize as you sit in the airport before your flight you forgot a bunch of cables for your presentation. You go and order them and they are at your hotel by the time you get there for the show the next day. You didn't have to fuss about finding a store. You didn't have to buy overpriced Monster junk. You didn't even have to give up any part of your day.
I am still waiting for them to bring back Seinfeld and Gates!!! FTW
Yea, I think a Kindle can be a great tool if you enjoy reading novels. Is it worth it value-wise? I don't know, though I know my Grandma likes hers, for example, because she can blow up the type. How do you value something like that.

With that said, I don't think it is anywhere close to a replacement for a newspaper. And I don't think it is anywhere close to a replacement for a text book. Both need a larger format, both need color these days and both need the ability to quickly skim through and flip pages.
It was only downloading half of my inbox, very strange. I went back to IMAP.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
