Mitch - $300 will get you 2-3 hours of flight time (with an instructor) tops. Nowhere near a license. That logic may work for Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but not for flying.
CarrotAndStick - Checkout Sony Navitus universal remote. Tactile feedback is unreal, you never had to look on the screen to know where the bottons were.
I thought maybe he was able to get the older PSP to run Skype, but it didn't show up on my system, so I guess not.
stirlo - "Sony will really shoot themselves in the foot here, don't ever alienate your "early adaptors" or core freaks!"

Early adopters? It's a 2+ year old system.

PSP was released (US) in March of 2005.
PSP Slim was released (US) in Septmeber of 2007.

Your like those people that cry when the car they bought now has a new cupholder or more HP the next year. Your PSP still plays games, music, movies, etc. Skype was never promised on your system. Stop crying about it. If it could have been done (well) they would have done it. They have a legit excuse, lack of RAM. Even if it can be done with less RAM, if it's not up to their standards, they won't release it. Plain and simple. Ugh, babies, I swear.

"There is also a grainy film effect that overlays the screen, giving the game an extra gritty and dark look and works well with its overall theme."

That's my one complaint. The grainy film effect is very distracting IMO. Otherwise, very well put together.
Most reports say this model will be vapor due to too many similar models. Jan isn't that far away for nobody to have seen it yet. Unlikely it will be out that quickly (if ever)
Mine showed up today, along with my friends (one to his house, one to mine).

It's very well done. An outer envelope, an inner one with the UMD. A Discount coupon for Best Buy and the "collectors item" which is a charm on a string (I guess for the corner of the PSP).

Very well done. Worth the wait!
If this guy doesn't contact Blockbuster Video he is an idiot. I can't tell you how many times I tried to rent UMD games and they were busted. I tried several different stores in totally different states and I can usually find one busted UMD out of the 2-3 I am going to rent. My personal collection has no broken UMDs (first day PSP buyer) so I assume it's all about how you handle your collection.
#2...the UMD demo of Syphonfilter Logans Shadow was 3.4, or at least it had the 3.4 update so I assume it required it.

Erik
I got the UMD for Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow over a month ago. I've never heard of this multiplayer being offered as a UMD if that's what your talking about.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
