Harsh crowd - look at this more for what it represents in the future, not in its current form. With some time/investment they can get deals with OEMs or third party manufacturers and get their "coil" built into the batteries directly and voila, no need for "tips", etc.

Couldn't agree more. I've been wondering when they would stop the white-labeling business plan. I'm sure it helped in the short term to get there phones subsidized by carriers, but it's probably terrible for brand recognition which would have hurt down the line.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.

"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
