f the cloud, me want a drobo!
You're an idiot. This is a very acceptable business practice/strategy. You don't see Mercedes making a vehicle that is priced like a Kia.
The recession is so bad, I can't afford Direct TV to watch my beloved Detroit Lions accomplish their perfect season this year. The sling catcher will help me see them go perfect again in 2009!
I'm really looking forward to a pocket-size, wide screen video/mp3 player.
The McLaren F1 features a carbon fiber chassis and a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber body.
Carbon Fiber is used primarily in racing scenes (Indy, Formula One, etc), because carbon fiber's strength:weight ratio is excellent. But you are not seeing OEM's manufacture 100% of their bodies/chassis in carbon fiber because carbon fiber is typically only strong in 1 direction. I am highly skeptical that a body/chassis of 100% carbon fiber is going to pass all the FMVSS standards. And if it doesn't, then it's nothing more than a concept car, not viable in the marketplace, which is one of the primary goals of the project.
Of course it's stronger than cardboard, but it isn't going to protect you at all in any type of accident.
A full carbon-fiber body & chassis? That is going to be like strapping a rocket to a cardboard box!
This is soooo SimCity2000...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
