Not at all, CharlieX. I dislike acronyms especially when they become so commonly used that people gloss over their actual meaning. Global positioning system is a simple example, light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation is not so simple, therefore LASER is very abused. LASER does not tell you anything about how the technology works, it is only a stand-in for the concept. Engadget is a technology blog, I think the understanding of the underlying concepts is just as important, if not more so, than the headline. Color changing roads is only the surface of the information, how and why are what is important, again: especially in a technology blog. If someone forgets that S stands for system in GPS and writes 'GPS system' then they are obviously not cognizant of the meaning of the acronym. This is in addition to it being redundant and therefor poor writing.
"While there's already GPS systems out there.." In other words:
"While there's already global positioning system systems out there.."

I'm sorry, but the "S" in the acronym GPS stands for system, the other system is superfluous (and very annoying to me for some reason).
The claim that "35 mpg would cause a $6,000-7,000" increase in sticker price is ridiculous. These companies don't just need to rethink their engine efficiencies but their entire product designs. My car consistently gets over 40 miles to the gallon. 'Oh, he must have a prius or something really expensive' you say. No. I drive a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback. This car came off the lines in '89, 18 years ago. I'm 18 years old. Kids my age don't drive very slow, I'm no exception. Yet my 100HP five speed stick shift beats everyone off the line and beats them in efficiency at the same time. The car is small and fun, seats 4 comfortably, five as long as I don't sit in the back seat, and six if the sixth wants to sit in the trunk (all with a boatload of stuff too). How could car companies be complaining about having to meet 35 mpg when my car is proof they surpassed this mark of efficiency almost two decades ago?
If you can use this to access the filesystem of the ipod touch/iphone than why can't you use this to load apps and other software like installer.app? Does it restrict it to specific folders? Even so, why is file transfer working and can that be exploited to get full access? I guess I should read more, I'm sure this is being looked at...
One please! DSLRs are the best..
I'd like whatever you can hit me with. Aim well my friends..
Me Quería escuchar a una canción con el. Mine was just stolen so a replacement would be fantastic..
My iPod was just stolen so a new shuffle would be awesome.
Anything with an apple logo is cool. (/me goes to get another apple sticker and puts it on more stuff)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
