AMD dubs HD 4870 X2 "world's fastest graphics card," benchmarks prove it {Engadget}

Aug 12th 2008 2:35AM I think all FPS graphs should show the minimum and standard deviation. You wont care that the average is 60 FPS if it regularly dips to 10 FPS - but these graphs don't show that info.

(Or maybe they do - Series1,2,3 ?? LOL)

Aug 11th 2008 7:33PM VR is arguably MORE useful in wide angle than long. The low light indoor scene is a problem more frequently encountered than shooting long outdoors.

Nikon's Coolpix S60, S710, S610 and P6000 with GPS get outed {Engadget}

Aug 7th 2008 4:09AM Wow, the UK really gets SCREWED on pricing.

£429 / $500 for the P6000.

500 USD = 256 GBP, not 429. Sure you expect a margin but that is ridiculous.

Olympus and Panasonic launch Micro Four Thirds, compact "DSLRs" will be yours {Engadget}

Aug 5th 2008 4:06AM Relax - obviously these cameras aren't meant to REPLACE SLRs so it's not "the end of" anything.

It just means there's now a STANDARD for large sensor, interchangeable-lens cameras like the Sigma DP-1. Which is a Good Thing because then maybe we'll see more of them.

The 4:3 adapter is a nice touch - lots of very very nice (and fast) Olympus lenses to choose from if you so desire.

Nikon D700 full-frame DSLR gets unboxed on video {Engadget}

Jul 27th 2008 6:56AM scott: not really.

How about a sensor that never clips the shadows and highlights (in any channel)? That's useful DR and has nothing to do with output.

Poll: fixed or variable width content for Engadget? {Engadget}

May 21st 2008 5:08PM It's 2008. We don't maximise windows any more. Keep it variable!
