I would be happy with setting a data point, say 4gb, per month, and if you use less than that amount (that may be too generous, i'm not putting a lot of thought behind the data amount) you get credit toward your data plan charge next month, pro-rated for the amount of data less than the amount, up to a certain amount of money. that way, if you don't use much bandwidth, you don't get charged for the bandwidth you didn't use. but, if you happen to use a lot one month, you aren't hammered with overage fees because you still are paying for "unlimited" data.

that would make me extremely satisfied with my data plan. then again, I get full bars almost 100% of the time, no matter where I am, so I'm not one of these people who think at&t is the reason for their life sucking.
looks pretty slick. it's hard to tell how interactive it will be, but it looks to be sort of a combination of a website and print magazine, which would be fantastic. especially with Wired, i've always loved the print magazine but i don't like the idea of wasting paper and having stacks of magazines laying around the house, and i also like the interaction on some of their web media but I've found it lacking in design aesthetics compared to the print version. this, however, is actually something i'd pay money for a digital subscription to, so long as it's rightfully cheaper than it's print counterpart and offers more than the website already does.

this is saying nothing of the actual tablet, which i'm guessing has a 90% chance of being a real product at this point, and which may or may not be worth the money to me personally. we'll have to see where the price lands.
like all the problems i've had with my first gen aluminum imac? oh wait, that would be none. none problems.
this computer is beautiful and a beast. i want.
i've spent extensive time in the DC area with my iphone (and my wife's) without a single problem. are people dropping their phones or dunking them in water to have such bad experiences? maybe apple sent a batch of phones with bad receivers? nobody i know with an iphone has reception problems. nobody.
i'll be honest, i still prefer the iphone to all it's competitors at the moment. however, based on the first droid commercial, i thought for sure they'd be doing some really good marketing at least. these 3 commercials are pretty weak considering the potential. the voice over just plain sounds like a wimp. they could have done better, they SHOULD have done better. these spots are too short, not enough oomph, and don't even show what the droid can do that the iphone or most of it's competitors can't. in fact, i think it's about time to fire up a class action lawsuit for claiming this phone can browse the web fast and the rest of the world can't. but, i suppose that's what this phone amounts to, an anticipation building first commercial and then mass disappointment when everyone realizes they can only keep 256mb of apps on their freaking phone. talk about droid CAN'T.
good thing my wife and I both always seem to get excellent 3g and edge coverage anywhere we've wanted to be (except in some really remote places in southern utah where none of our other friends had coverage either). i recognize that some people are probably not getting good service, and they have a right to spout off hate against at&t (in this case), but i know plenty of people who have been extremely unhappy with sprint and verizon as well. in fact, i'd say of all services one could buy, cell service tends to be universally hated no matter which carrier you're on and the grass is always greener until you switch carriers and slip in poop. i've had nothing but good service from at&t, and i'm happy they were the carrier apple chose to do business with (first) because i like that i can take my phone to other countries and mostly not have to worry, and frankly verizon has a very bad reputation for gouging it's customers, having garbage customer service, and ruining otherwise decent phones with their bloatware and branding.

they seem to be pretty bitter about not having the iphone, which comes off as kind of desperate.
such deep discounts so soon after the phone was launched seems to indicate lagging sales, IMO. but yes, it certainly stopped the iPhone dead in it's tracks, didn't it? and the multiple touchscreen blackberry's, and the droid, and... and....
zax, what the hell did you expect? steve jobs to fly his personal jet to your office that day and fix it for you? what would dell have done in the same situation? if your computer has a problem you have a few options: ship it back, drive to the store, or STFU.
i find it amusing to see these MS fanboys trying to flip the argument by saying the first gen ipod touch didn't have this or that. how long ago was the ipod touch first released? is this suggesting that this zune HD is supposed to be competing with a now discontinued product of that many years ago? give me a break. zune HD is competing with the ipod touch of today, so the fact that zune HD doesn't have features that the CURRENT ipod touch has is a perfectly reasonable criticism. there's a reason apple added a volume rocker to the ipod touch, and part of that was all the anti-apple morons who keep holding a carrot out saying "if only the ipod touch had this, i'd be all over it", only changing the desired feature every time a new product is released that addressed the previous complaints. if only the ipod touch had a smaller screen, no external volume control, no thousands of compatible accessories, no hundreds of thousands of apps, no perfect sync with the best desktop media player, no mail app, no superior web browser, etc. etc. maybe then i'd buy an ipod touch. AMIRITE? actually that can be reduced to "if only i didn't have an unreasonable dislike of apple i'd buy it". just say what you mean to say.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
