Nokia N79, N85 and N96 hands-on {Engadget}
Aug 26th 2008 4:41PM I'm quite excited about the n85 as I'm in the market for a new n series phone.
Problem is, I'm on T-mobile and there are no nokia 3g phones yet that work with T-mobile.
T-mobile sucks so hardcore.

Aug 12th 2008 11:14AM what a useless turd that thing is.
too much technobabble, not enough speakers.
This is for people who are too lazy to install speakers.
And for people who have more money than brains!

Nokia XpressMusic 5800 "Tube" turns up in German poster {Engadget}
Jul 11th 2008 5:22PM This would be a great phone if it weren't $900. Nokia n-series phones are great in concept, but seem to be produced in small batches. They are way overpriced and most US carriers don't sell them or support them. This is partially because the US wireless market is so far behind the rest of the world.
I've never owned any brand of phone but Nokia in the past 12 years. I'm growing tired of the phones which promise great features that rarely work properly.
My carrier doesn't allow high speed data for my n80 phone. The browser doesn't work properly. 80% of websites don't work right. There is a very small cache for it. When the cache fills, the browser crashes. There's no flash support. The wifi doesn't support wpa2. The phone is really kind of slow. The only redeeming feature of s60 is it's freedom with media. You can take mp3s and put them on the microSD card and make them ringtones. You can make .wav files into ringtones. You can add a picture for any caller. I just wish the n80 screen was larger. Though it's a very small phone.
so this tube phone will just be another gimmick which doesn't work properly either. I'd love to have one, but I would have to sell my car to afford it.
FCC wants to hear your voice on the MPAA's latest DRM proposal {Engadget}
Jun 12th 2008 3:42AM I own an analog HDTV. it's component only. Allowing the MPAA to insert code which would disable a set-top box's analog outputs is effectively putting me in the dark. I wouldn't be able to view content I paid for. That's unethical and currently illegal.

Rock Band kick pedal modded for double bass action {Engadget}
Apr 24th 2008 8:32AM I fully beg to differ.
I know professional drummers who can play faster double bass with a single pedal than a rock drummer with two pedals.
I've seen it and heard it. It's really all about skill.
