I think these might be perfect for cracking open the mic housing and wiring in a short length of cable that terminates in a nice neat fused 3.5mm plug.

You know, for use with big noise-cancelling headphones that are nice enough to just have a 3.5mm jack in the bottom.

Anybody open the mic housing on theirs, does it look workable?
Well, the lens bulge is way smaller, which no doubt contributes to it being 5mm thinner.

And it maybe has some new flash-based UI on it... maybe.

But basically, no. It's an update release.
The only photos of the backs have LEDs, not "real" flashes. So basically, SE don't want us to know what the back of the k810 looks like yet...

And still no word on this supposed new UI that was snapped on the W880. The specs pages do mention these phone shave some kind of flash player on them though...

As to the buttons, I thought only Nokia were allowed to use retarded button designs?
But what of its supposedly new interface?

Also, The Register's article mentions "full PC and Mac synchronisation". Does this mean I can sync my music from iTunes on my mac? Or does it just mean that contact photos will sync with my address book?

Current SE handsets do neither, so either one is a welcome step-up.
Wait... how can a USB keyboard (and, indeed, a USB card reader) not be mac-compatible?

Handheld devices present a real challenge.

The internet is more and more about contributing, rather than dumbly consuming media, as such, data entry is pretty common. Rare is it you will use a computer for more than 20 minutes without touching the keyboard.

As such, and especially with HWR still being so very very dire, any device that eschews a useable keyboard throws away a whole host of functionality, and thus limits the applications of the device.

So, in conclusion: Flybooks all round!
Only Vista huh? I wonder if Apple's Leopard will be able to play with flash-enhanced HDs.

Or maybe it'll be another feature left oddly by the roadside by the boys from Cupertino coughA2DPcough
~90% of all computer users are running windows, but what percentage of them do you think are geeky enough to read engadget?

I remember back in ~1998 when macs accounted for about a third of all web traffic, I guess the average mac user is just more tech-savvy.
Hold on.... still no USB 2?

Filling up the 512Mb card in my k750i is pretty damn painful over USB 1.

Also, the buttons around the joystick look pretty messy to me. Could they not have just put > buttons on the side with the play/pause key like how the ROKR E2 does things?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
