Does anybody know if the SMC sold through this pack will allow to access any FON router out there? They currently require Browser authentication and none of the Skype WIFI phones have browsers afaik.
Will it be possible to associate a MAC address with one's FON account?
I have already tried using skype with a public FON access point *without* logging in and it doesn't work.

Knowing that Skype is a big investor in Phone, they should allow Skype to register without signing in, that would be very useful.

oh well let's just hope they wake up and leverage their network and allow the Netgear SPH101 to register as well.
Very nice except it doesn't run DVI screens..
Next!
Sorry if I didn't state my opinion clearly enough; I didn't want to bash Sony (although I must admit reading my comments it does look this way). My point is that Sony does some nice cameras, but I disagree with the kind of strategy they have with regards to interoperability.
And for Nikon, I digress but CaptureOne may be cool for now, but I like to keep my options open.

I am not sure I followed your point regarding Canon's lock-in; sure you don't have F-mounts, but I can still by Sigma lens can't I? Not sure I am getting your point here.

People thinking about a Sony H2 are in the market for a digital camera. I don't think a Nikon F2 will cut it for them, although it is an excellent piece to learn the ropes (actually should be enough for just about anybody).

Back to my original argument, people looking for a $400 digital camera should consider Canon's S2 or a used Digital SLR (if they don't mind the added bulk).

Before the make up their minds, I highly recommend that they go read the reviews and most importantly get a feel of it in a store even if they order it online later.

30D, nothing personal, just trying to have a sound argument. No need for bashing.
And for $150 you can get an iSight which you can hook up to your laptop for 640*480 @30fps glory.
Just need one of those suction tripods or the in the box stand with a suction mount will do fine.
My isight works great for my in-car dashs around the nurburgring, should be fine on the american roads.
Brnadon B, wish you were right but unfortunately I am right as per the last sentence in the linked article "It is furthermore equipped with different types of alloy wheels for testing plus two extra supporting wheels on the side."
Supporting sounds pretty clear to me. They are not of the kind you are talking about that are usually about 20" big.
Is that a little orange wheelie on the side?
I guess even Lotus is not exempt of physics laws and that as "sexy" and innovative this trhee weel desgin may look, it doesn't hold a candle to 4 wheels when it comes to stability in corners.

No wonder they expect the US to be te main market, these are people who drive at 55mph and have never taken a bend.

A lotus elise with it's full 300Kgs more can probably run circles around this POS when it gets twisty.
If only they could include WPA support for wifi, I would be all over this!
I was just about to suggest this type of game be offered for free via XBox Live ARcade for Xbox 360 but then I noticed the Nvidia banner in the logo so no go for XBOX..

Anybody know if America's Army will ever be available for XBLA?
Great stuff AutoBlog.

Could you by anychance provide a separate High(er) res file for those of us who would also like to see this in all its glory on computer monitors?
A good 480p file would sure do the trick.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
Yes!!! At last!!
They probably have some flavor of embedded linux running on this thing. Jsut like they do with all their Modem/routers.
Thank you Netgear for bringing me the device that wll allow me to go completel without a landline and ***yet** keep a lanline number so my cheap-ass friends can ring me. (I live in Europe, and calls to mobile phone are 20X the cost of those to landlines, so forget about living strictly off a mobile here).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
