Ummm, guys, they already did this in a Hallmark movie. Lets just say it didn't end well.
WinMo 7 should have been out, like, yesterday? Yeah, no kidding Ballmer.

Their desktop OS has leaped forward, their gaming console platform is very succesful, they've launched a media player that looks really good. The user experience across MS products and services is shaping up pretty nicely, but WinMo remains the one key gap in their lineup.

If WinMo 7 was launching in 2009, with a slick Zune-HD-like touch screen user experience and Zune Store and Xbox Live integration, I think MS would have a killer combo of products and services. But as it stands, there's a crucial piece of the puzzle missing.

Sounds like they recognize that. If I was MS, I would be throwing some major resources at WinMo 7 right now.
You don't need to tell me. I must have spent a fortune at Handango. I've been using that site for 7 years now with various Symbian/WinMo phones. I'm now on an Omnia i900. Its the seemingly limitless number of apps available that make the Omnia so great. The app scene is not locked down or limited in any way, so anything becomes possible. EG: "Nav'n'Go igo8" - a SUPERB sat nav app that puts TomTom to shame.
Lol, yeah ok that's one solution. Not the one I was thinking of!
Damn it Nintendo, I don't need another gimmicky peripheral. How about some decent games instead! I'm tired of watching my Wii collect dust :(
I'm shocked. Half a dozen comments already and no one is slagging off Microsoft and saying fail! Whats going on here??

Seriously though, this definitely is a step in the right direction. MS just need to be careful there steps aren't too small otherwise our good friends Android, Apple OS, Symbian and Web OS will pass them by.

I really hope that a second team are seriously working on WinMo 7 right now, rather than waiting for 6.5 to launch. Otherwise its going to be a looooong time until we see 7. Releasing a killer new mobile OS before the end of 2010 would be a serious game changer for MS.
Ouch is right! I mean can you imagine his manager or publicist at that moment! Massive doh! moment.
Out of curiosity, I just went to the online store and spec'd one of these up. In the Australian Apple store. In Aus Dollars its about $8,500 or $9,000 with the Apple Care warranty added. Whoa!

Why on earth is 4GB of extra memory costing $2,000 though!
The Archos 605 WiFi is an awesome little product. But I agree that Archos customer service is sh*t. Therefore I would be a bit reluctant to buy an Archos branded Netbook or Notebook.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
