Nikon D90 rumors heating up ahead of Photokina as well {Engadget}

Aug 6th 2008 4:40AM Sony's Alpha 700 has hdmi output already so that's nothing that brings any issues. I assume whatever video is fetched of a second sensor and the live view is in the same fashion as the Sony Alpha 300 / 350.

But I'm not sure if it is real or just someones imagination before Nikon put out a press release.

Olympus and Panasonic launch Micro Four Thirds, compact "DSLRs" will be yours {Engadget}

Aug 5th 2008 8:03AM the sensor is the same as fourthird. Still a far cry from full frame and not up to the size of aps-c.

For those who like the size of a compact but want the quality of a dslr can suddenly find a good compromise in mFourthirds which is in essense a rangefinder format. probably let you easily adopt leica m lenses too.

But I'll keep my dslr. I don't mind the extra weight.

Hasselblad introduces the 50 megapixel H3DII-50 {Engadget}

Jul 8th 2008 7:43AM You can buy this or stich two images taken with the forthcoming Sony Alpha 900 (or the rumored Nikon d3x based on the same image chip) - with the announced 24.6 megapixel full frame sensor it would be about the same. (since this h3dii-50 was twice the size of a fullframe sensor)

Commodore 64 users create perfect nerdstorm {Engadget}

Jul 8th 2008 7:24AM Indeed the games were no fun back then. That's why there are so many emulators (both software like frodo and hardware like c64 dtv) plus even net radio stations, cd releases etc of game music. (oh well)

Now the graphics might look better than we dreamed of back then and the sound is as natural as it can get. But the gameplay were the focus of the game back then, not the graphics.

Beside, the c64 wasn't out in 1980, it was august 1982.

Jul 7th 2008 9:42AM Probably because they were the cheapest option, which explains why it didn't fill the needs more expensive options are created for.

My parents were perfectly happy with their Packard Bell, become retired now but still runs and looks as ugly as it did when they first bought it.

Jul 7th 2008 4:24AM http://youtube.com/watch?v=nEVO2ywceyk

this is a classical 'opinions change over time' video to remind the anti-apple fanboys that their cult leader hasn't always kept direction.

But fun to see what the new blood can do, the macbooks and (i)mac have kept its shape for quite a while now. Time for some new ideas.

Philips releases three yawn-inducing GoGear MP3 players {Engadget}

Jun 19th 2008 4:24AM Quite ironic that ipod is tied to itunes is both part of what appeals to people (easy to use for people even not that used to computers), and what turns other on that prefer to feed the device they use directly.
