Strange - I love the trackpad gestures. I have all enabled and use them daily (except the rotate). They work perfectly and I have never - not even once - had an accidental resize when one want to scroll. how on earth did you do that anyway? Scoll is two fingers down or up. resize is two fingers together or apart. heck, even how much I try I can't make any scroll-like action resize. Do you have any disabilities or other abnormalities or deformalities that could affect the useage?

Google for "mac mini server farm", and you see why this is made.
The sensor gap is actually showing more now than before with cheaper Fullframe bodies. (Micro-)fourthird has its niche, but for quality it will never be one of the better choices.

A 1000d is as basic as a dslr ever should be, improvements on it as numberous. in fact, I wouldnt suggest the 1000d to anybody.
the 7d is 1.6x crop, the 5d is fullframe. The mirror the 5d has to swing and the size of the shutter is therefor alot larger and not that easy to get fast fps on.
a famous norwegian fashion editor/writer died recently, she was named Kiki Sørum. I wonder if she ever had any luck with her name in her inevitable visits to the fashion capital of europe -> france.. ;)
Its retro looking, if you look back to the first pentaprism-cameras you will notice the same bulge. I would guess the pentaprism would be a tad smaller because of a less than 100% as the a900 has.
its a a900 with something like 98% viewfinder (100% on the a900) and 3 vs 5 on the a900, thus a850. afaik so far.

The a900 is one amazing camera, so I would guess the a850 would be great because of lower price.
Now you might have any gripe as you want about the Mac OS X as you want, but this problem was regarding hardware and the fact that the firmware in the keyboards was possible to upgrade. Since they was open, black hat hackers / crackers can exploit this to upload their own firmware after they reverse engineered the original.

So OS X was not to blame, in fact. the computer could be running windows or linux.
One can call Snow Leopard as much of a servicepack as one want, but the only different from the vista -> windows 7 upgrade that snow leopard has yet to show a large change in cloathing. The fundation has had a major rehaul, just as Windows 7 is a major rehaul of the vista engine. They are still not a product of many years of r&d, but refinement of the current systems.

Leopard is OS 10.5, and have so far had seven "service packs" (thus the current 1.5.7 version number). Microsoft seem to collect into very infrequent service pack updates, while Apple updates with a higher frequence.

There are also concerns regarding price of the apple laptops and desktops, but thats like cracking jokes on high end car brands. You probably can get a cheap car that goes as fast, but still lacks the refinement of the higher end ones. Dell, HP, Acer, Lenevo etc all have high end models, and they are are as highly priced as the macbook pros, and features in line with the macbooks.

I'm happy with my macbook pro and mac pro. But my previous laptops where high end thinkpad, and one high end acer. And they were as expensive - or even more - as my macs.
natan: I agree the old kit lenses weren't much to write home about. But the new ones seem to be very nice. (kit lenses that comes with a230, a330 and a380). And they do have an extremly good range of high end lenses. the Carl Zeiss and G lenses are absolutly amazing. There are old gems as well, for chaepskate alternatives.

"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
