Um, considering that water shortages in the future are projected without introducing the consumption of it as a fuel. Considering we are already losing coastal waters around the water to rising sea levels. And considering the immense cost and complexity of building desalinization plants (including their own usage of fuels as well)...

What exactly is the advantage of shifting to a water-based vehicle other than lowering emissions? There are already existing technologies that solve that problem which can be used. Great technical feat, horrible idea to persue.
I live in New Orleans now and was in town the earlier this week when the delegation was here. The meeting took place down at the Convention Center on the river downtown. The whole city center around the Convention Center was blocked off from to pedestrian and vehicular traffic so there was nobody within even a good 2,000-foot radius from the EXTERIOR of the building. The area was secure. If they were leaving government electronics outside the _meeting room_, they were safe. However, not safe from the very few people (mostly those associated with the delegations) who were allowed in past the barricades. That being said, I did see Air Force One at the airport that day from the area of the runway as we were doing some investigations along the levee out there, and at the time there was no one guarding this area. If I had been a "terrist" I would easily have blown up the plane as it was taking off that day. Thank Allah I am not a terrist
Actually, if you read the memorandum, it is not a cease and desist letter. It is totally not in the language of typical patent infringement notices. This is either a) a publicity stunt to get on the front page of engadget before some kind of product launch; b) an early April Fool's Joke; or c) both.

I smell a marketing rat... The Register is running another similar "story" noting that there is a job posting "still" up at Apple's website for a handwriting recognition software engineer. Sounds like some covert mac promotion. Getting buzz going, blah. Well if it works for them, then the public is as gullible as they believe. Capitalism is the biggest mind f@#$ ever!

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
