Congrats on not reading the article and looking ridiculous. They submitted this standard as open source. There is no "grip" on the market for these cables. Now that the standard is official anybody can make this cable. Also, Apple is taking the high road here. There are no licensing fees for using DisplayPort. You might even say they were doing what was best for the little guy here.

But hey, you running your mouth off works too.
You are an idiot. First of all.. no usb ports on the monitor you just showed. Second, ugly as hell. Third, has VGA and hdmi instead of display port which has better bandwidth than both. Fourth, that monitor is not LED backlit.

What were you thinking when you typed your comment? What are you trying to prove? That you don't know monitors for jack? lol
Wont log in for me. Deleted the entire app and still nothing. Just a black screen. Thanks facebook. Another poorly written app.
Yeah the murder rate has really droppe....errrr...wait?
engadget assumes everyone is having problems and makes this into a big deal. I have 2 3G iphones on contract and have no issues. Neither does anybody else I've talked to at work. Austin, tx has great 3G coverage I guess
Dave, the 9600gt came out in February. Welcome to August.
clock speed means nothing engadget, we thought you would know that by now. Obviously this quad core processor at 5.1GHz is faster than a P4 at 8.18GHz
I was reading through thegreenbutton and saw a response from microsoft:

Wow. This was an eye-opening thread... and not in a good way. There is obviously a lot of frustration about this, but I don't agree with making personal attacks and (in my opinion) very hateful and harsh statements without any real information to back it up. I was also a little surprised at being personally called out for not posting a response (along with Microsoft in general) to a post that wasn't even one day old. Thanks guys, really... I feel the love.

That said, I'll refer back to my earlier post on this topic, and say that we will post more information before the official announcements at CEDIA. You can expect this to include explanations to several of the issues brought up in this thread. In the meantime, I'll see how much (if any) information I can comment on, and we'll share more details when possible. However, I encourage future posts to be somewhat respectful, as I will not be responding to any questions within the flaming or overly anti-Microsoft posts. We all care about the success of Media Center otherwise we wouldn't be here... so please keep that in mind when posting.

This is kinda disheartening. I hope this doesn't stay OEM only. Time to drop MCE if it is. Ugh this is like MCE 2005 all over again.

All I really want is the directv support anyways
Ugh, I've had nothing but trouble. Original iPhone + 2.0 Software = laggy typing, constant crashes. I'm about to return this junk to the apple store.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
