Wow thanks for the thoughts Chris P! You'd be right the version numbers mean next to nothing. I'm sorry I assumed some level of intelligence and knowledge on the part of the average Engadget reader to know about how Nokia has completely not supported the North American variants & users of their phones. So forgetting the FW version numbers how about the simple fact that the FW revisions on the N95-1 & -2 have given those devices demand paging, better stability, better photo quality, better WIFI sensitivity, better battery management, quicker GPS locks, and built in auto-rotate using the accelerometer while the N95-3 & -4 are still waiting on those things?
Here's a couple suggestions for you Nokia:

{1} How about you worry less about re-branding the devices with names vs numbers/letters and more about supporting American versions of your devices with FIRMWARE UPGRADES like you do with your European devices. My N95-3 (last years "flagship device") is still stuck with firmware version 20 while all the other N95 variants are at version 31!!!

{2} Try paying attention to your own "Nokia Support Discussions"! In the Software>Software Updates subforum 2/5 of the most heavily 'Kudos'ed (high rated) posts in the past 6 months and 3/5 in the past month are all in the "Will there be another N95-3 update?" thread @ http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=45177 and yet Nokia has yet to respond.

{3} In short, try not to piss off the people who are/were willing to lay down the $500+ to buy your devices without a contract as the best advertising has and always will be word of mouth and the people who buy your phones for full price are more than likely going to be your best word of mouth boosters/advertisers because they already clearly love(d) your device(s)!!!

How about using the back display to warn of a speed trap ahead.
Better yet how about they put a display on the front of the car so we can warn oncoming traffic of a speed trap ahead instead of doing the old high beam flash (which I'm convinced a large number of people don't recognize)
I am, of course, assuming the displays are completely see through/not at all visible from the inside
For once I am very very happy that Nokia hates on North America and ignores the USA and Canada so I can continue using the program for probably quite a while before they start charging for it here in Canada. Hopefully we will have to wait for them to start charging for the Nokia Email program here just about as long as we have been waiting for a firmware update for the N95-3 LOL

I am no Rogers Wireless cheerleader - far from it in fact - but just looking at their coverage maps available on their website I have to say your comments are not accurate
As of 2006 17% of the Canadian population lived in the Greater Toronto Area which doesn't include Hamilton, Niagara, St Catherines, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and all the other smaller cities in the vicinity of Toronto covered by the same 3.5g signal.
In fact, most of the Windsor-Quebec City Corridor (the population corridor mostly along the paths of Highway 401 in Ontario and Autoroute 20 in Quebec) is covered by Rogers' 3G signal according to the Rogers maps and over 1/2 of the Canadian population lives along that corridor.
So ya, actually they are providing coverage 3G and otherwise to most of Canada's population just by covering those areas alone, never mind Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, and Halifax amongst others. It just happens to be that the majority of Canada is relatively empty of human inhabitants.
Somewhat annoyed with this change as well!
One of the main reasons I have loved XM since I got it for the free 3 months with my new car was The System (XM 82) because of the amazing trance played on there - especially having Armin Van Buuren's A State Of Trance in my car on the radio every Thursday was a pure treat! I don't see ASoT on either channel lineup (80 or 81) and it will be extremely missed by me and probably leave me a LOT less likely to renew my one year contract when it expires.
Bring back XM 82 The System!
But FP2 = not fix for the bug in the Dialed/Received/Missed Call log re:icons, it always shows the mobile icon so if you have 2 numbers for one contact (Home & Mobile) it will always show the mobile icon even if the person called you from their home number
Anyone else wondering how the hell this thing holds you phone/device up? One of those sticky pads like you can buy for your car maybe? It doesnt seem to have any ports or clips that I can see
I am liking the fact that this comes with a belt clip (by the look of it from the pic) which too many headsets do not come with these days...especially important b/c they are so tiny and get killed in your pocket or are impossible to dig out because the ear hooks catch on random other items!!!
I enjoyed the episode but didn't think that it was a top-notch effort on the part of South Park writers but, hey, not all the episodes can be absolutely hilarious.
I didn't much like how Britney died in the end...flash photography? What is she, one of the robots from Itchy & Scratchy Land (in a Simpsons episode from years ago)? At least make her start running away or dragging herself with her hands and falling off a cliff or maybe onto train tracks and have a train derail because of it so she really could end up being a 'train-wreck'...I was sort of expecting that to happen when they were on the train and the conductor got that call.
Truth be told I was sort of hoping/expecting them to do something about ex-NY Gov Spitzer but maybe they're waiting to see how the whole extramarital affairs of new NY Gov David Paterson plays out before they do anything (so they can skewer the NY State Government as a whole).
Also re:Butters in the squirrel costume, where was his dad wondering where Butters is and threatening/promising to ground him when/if he comes home?!?! They could've just stuck that in after the squirrel insisting he is a little boy news piece. "...And in other news, a local couple is distraught over the disappearance of their 9/10 year old son ['Video' of Butters' dad with crying mom wondering where he is and threatening/promising a grounding]."

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
