Hmm, I much prefer my bluetooth headset, thanks.
I would agree that BIXI is a great idea for commuters (Point A to Point B), but it is rather expensive if you are looking for a bike for a half or whole day. Rent a bike from a local shop.
I'm just waiting for them to connect their Northeast and Midwest services with a Chicago -> DC or Chicago -> Philly route that goes through Pittsburgh!
Meh, supershuttle, town car... I prefer the bus in Pittsburgh. Maybe it takes 20 minutes longer but I only pay $2.60 each way.
So does the airline put you up in a hotel in New York while you are on reserve or is that your responsibility?
I would use the free tickets to visit old friends in Amsterdam and throughout Germany.
Ken,

Wasn't the MD-80 emergency landing at an air force base? I think they asked them to close the shades for security reasons.
Jeff, I don't think this applies in general to Germans. I lived there 2004-2005 and got run over in the line to many a Ryan Air and Germanwings flight.
This is awesome. How do airport policy/staff generally feel about such a thing? On more than one occasion I've had my small 2-person tent packed and considered setting it up for a long lay-over.
The great thing about living in any city in Germany for a time, is that you quickly figure out where to find the best Döner. I generally rated the best Döner by the size and the quality of the vegetables, as the meat seems generally the same wherever you go. When I lived near Worms about 3 years ago, high-quality 2 euro döners were easy to find.

That said, I enjoyed currywurst but for some reason associated it with Weihnachsmärkt (Christmas Markets).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
