People were screaming about the 360's price when it first came out, and still are. I guess sony could drop the price if they pulled the blu ray drive out.

Quit whining about the pricing of the system when you're still willing to pay 60 bucks for a single game.
What would be really cool would be for this to be that affordable miracle box that has analog component IN. Someday someone will make one, that's affordable. Too bad wvhs vanished.
The chicken or the egg.
Kajoob,
I don't think it was quite like that. Didn't the $14 come from donations? So there were a number of people interested in it, not just one guy with money.
AGH! Micro payments! Here we go, down the Bill Gates Micro payment path. I don't like it. I like buying something and using it. This per-use idea just doesn't sit well with me. Does it others?

I like it's look better.
I was going to say "It's hard to beat 50inch plasma for $3800". BUT I'm wrong. A quick look at circuit city and I see 5 50" for the same price, or less. I don't know about the quality on them, though.

I don't like plasmas in general. But they are big. I love the quality of my 34" xbr crt, but there is something to be said about size - IF you have the viewing distance.
Anyone have a link to a video other than quicktime? QT won't update on my computer!
CRT fans unit. :) #27, re#23, Yes, HD crts are awesome. There are a lot of junk hd crts, but the XBR line is simply awesome. I can't stand LCDs and Plasma. You have to see it to believe it. (though size is one issue)

BTW, #6 how are you going from component to h.264?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
