FYI Overseas Yahoo stock currently down 20%... As we proceed towards opening bell tick tock tick tock...

lol, JAN 31, 2008 YHOO = $19, HI MICROSOFT!, FEB 2, 2008 YHOO = $29

Heh... exactly...

Yahoo needs this correction of reality and watch their stock plunge, MS should return when their stock is at the $15 neighborhood. They might be able to get over their stigma by then.

Bottom line Yahoo has users but I believe their number will decline, after all you can buy a lot of users for $44B. Its a hell of a premium for speed.
There is at least $10 of overvalue in Yahoo's stock right now, all from people expecting to make a little money over the buyout. After all Yahoo was trading at 3 year lows before the MS announcement.

I would expect it to go back to $20-$23 range EOW.

If you were smart you would sell and then only buy again if you really have to have a piece of a declining internet company sandwiched between two behemoths willing to spend themselves out of existence to win the web.
Horde is it!
PDF, and I mean ****GOOD**** PDF support is the only way I would ever buy an e-ink device again ".!"

The Sony reader can do the job, but its a pain, somebody wrote a small utility to crop, dialate, and convert a pdf to Sony reader format but you still have to read it in landscape and the text quality is less than optimal. The Iliad is a "little bit" better, but $699 is too much but a bit better. I would pay that much if the PDF support was perfect.

Ironically bad PDF support is not really the fault of these devices but more with the format really, but because I have so many good books and magazines in PDF it would be hard to switch to another format. I am still waiting for that oober conversion tool to get me off of PDF completely.

I would even pay more than $399 for it in a second.
The Zune actually is not much "thicker" than the Ipod. The 30GB ipod is 10.9mm compared to 14.7mm of the Zune. A little over 1/8" bigger. Not too bad to get Wifi and a bigger screen in my book.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
