Actually, I think the healthcare industry still uses beepers, mostly because they're passive and don't interfere with equipment as much.

Never mind... it was Aperture 2. You'd think there'd be something on the homepage...

The U.S. Store is up; can't find anything hugely amazingly new...

No huge announcements on the front page that weren't there before...

This is awesome. I always love seeing people turn ordinary devices into assistive technology. As far as I know, I haven't even *seen* a commercial product that does this, and if there was, it would almost definitely cost *way* more than a PSP!

Engadget rocks!
Have you looked at the "Specifications" section yet? (I'm not sure if they added that later...):

RAM: DDRII 256MB and above (Max to 2.0 GB)
HD: 60/80/100/120 GB (5400RPM-SATA)
Screen: 14.1" UltraVivid* widescreen display, WXGA (1280x 800)
...etc (you get the point).

Is it just me, or would something like an IBM Trackpoint (the red eraser-head thingies) work better on this? There seems to be an unlabeled key to the right side of "G" (on the left split of the keyboard); just stick an eraserhead there and a couple of mouse buttons on the bottom. Or just change the touchpad to a joystick thingy; either way, a trackpad that small isn't really practical.

A touchscreen would be neat too...

Or you could hook up a tiny laptop mouse (which would actually look pretty neat... or... dare I say... cute?)

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
