Cyclonic suction? You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

The whole "cyclonic action" marketing spin (pardon the pun) on vacuum cleaners has nothing to do with how they suck and has everything to do with how they filter particulate matter out of the air. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclonic_separation for further information.
I don't think my XBL experience would be as good as it is if Microsoft didn't have Sony to compete with.

I highly doubt the Xbox360 and PS3 would have the kind of power they do if they didn't have each other to compete with.

I wouldn't expect Nintendo to come out with innovative products like the DS and Wii if they were the sole player on the block.

Standards are good, competition is better. Without it we will end up with a blatant rehash of last years product with prettier graphics and a few tweaks here and there. It would be the hardware equivalent of EA sports strategy. Oh, wait...

I was going to leave this after the first guy brought up Moore's law, but after two posts referencing I cannot help it.

Moore's law has absolutely zero to do with hard drive density!

Furthermore, according to Wikipedia we haven't been seen storage double over the past couple of years. According to the time line posted there the first 500GB 3.5" drive was released in 2005, with the first 1TB drive coming out 2007.
Trigger happy is right. Including the police.

At least when someone with proper training picks up a firearm they realize they must use restraint. I'd rather my neighbour carry a handgun than a Taser. At least then they know they are carrying something that will, if used, be deadly force.

I don't see a taser as a personal defense weapon. A taser is used to subdue someone who is otherwise unruly but not dangerous. I personally do not like that concept.
I agree with this guy! How lame!
The title says it all "Mobiles blamed for cyberbullying..." blame the object not the person.

That being said depending on the age level of the students I don't see a "out of site" policy as being unreasonable. More specifically if you are going to have a mobile at school that's fine as long as it is out of site and on silent/vibrate.
You saw this last year...

Sorry, huge peeve.
I've said it once before: How about a head phone that just sounds good? I see all these neat little headphone gadgets coming through this site and others and I am willing to wager not a single one would be acceptable to my ear.
Ask and ye shall receive: i
Crappy bass?

I'd have to disagree. Using my Sennheiser HD570 headphones I get fantastic bass. If anything I'd place the blame squarely on the pathetic excuse for headphones that iPods come with.

What can you expect though, they are likely 2 dollar commodity headphones painted white. If you actually want decent sound toss 20 bucks into a pair of "ear pad" headphones. If you want great sound... well, get out your wallet.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
