I have a 70" 1080P TV. I'm ready for the next step... my entire wall being viewable!

Why all the hate? I'm glad SSD is getting mainstream. They will get better and bigger, prices will drop. Consumers win!
I'm going with Richard on this one. I have a HD-DVD player, a very good upscaling DVD player and a 70" 1080P set.

I compared King Kong HD vs the DVD-9 retail version. Yes the HD was better, but not by a quantum leap. After watching for a few minutes, you forget the differences.

To date I have bought 2 HD movies, Polar Express and 2001. I won’t get suckered into buying junk movies again (ala Twister) just because they look nice on the screen.
Why is everyone complaining? I'm happy they worked on this title and fixed bugs. It's free too.
I remember waaay back people said similar things about MP3 and the CD. Betting that removable media is future proof tech is absurd.

I live in a fairly affluent area of Los Angeles. Most of my friends have nice HD tv's NOT ONE has or cares about HD-DVD or Blu-ray.

The convenience of DVR is just too great. Like the above poster said, most people, even with HD-TV's still listen with the crappy TV speakers. (not me of course)
Excellent quote!!! ^^
An excuse to jack OUR interenet rates. With $4 dollar gas on the horizon, more people will want to work at home. $20-$50 a month for internet is seen as too cheap by telcos... considering you SUV costs $100 to fill up now.
I remember looking forward to this movie when I was a student in Computer Science at College.

Last week I watched it with my son... awesome!
No worries. I've never seen standards change so fast for products like this. Look how long Wireless N is taking to get certified.
You don't know what your talking about.

1.3B "B"... the PS3 is NOT 1.3B..
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
