Like they said, "brown"?
@ Josh - right on the money. "we can't do anything to enforce an anachronistic law so we'll try and come across as good guys by 'legalising' something you've all been doing for years. Of course, we won't touch the incredibly expensive pricing system we've set up, we won't stop enforcing the law when it comes to firms importing CDs from outside the European trading zone, and we pray to the non-existant god that you don't all start going to allofmp3.com where you can pay a fair price for music and do what you want with it".
I see the advertisers are posting again ^^
Let's pray that when Sony bring out their's they've got in a third party to do the software.....
#28: Oh dear, the delights of DRM. Use allofmp3.com people - it's the answer to your prayers.
#42 - me too, I've contracted OCD over this and never expected to.
Yeah, like Craig said - too much. I mean, really, too much.
Here's an idea (and I like the Starbucks idea of filling up your machine - let's hope they can keep it DRM free though of course this is about the last thing you'd expect from them but anyway...): You walk into a bar, the jukebox doesn't have what you want so you buy it and listen to it - the bar has it forever thereafter and their jukebox fills up over time; you have the distinction of having your name carved in digital stone for all eternity next to the tracks you've bought and will thereafter be known as the cool guy who brought Kosheen to the masses at Rick's Bar and Grill or wherever. OK, just a thought - back to surfing now and I'll leave you all alone.
Holy monkeys the Apple crowd are a sensitive bunch. Looks like they got a nice new toy to play with though, very nice indeed. And when there is a machine that can run both mac and msft OSs, that is when the fun will really start.
I agree with Jeff, no. 33, when he says:
Eventually Apple may end up with a lot more "switchers" out of this, because people who really do prefer the Mac OS won't have to give up Windows cold turkey in order to run it.
In fact, that's likely to be me in future - I've always used Windows because of compatibility with work, but if there were a way of having my cake and eating it too....
Me? I like a viewfinder - despite what they and everyone else says, those LCD screens just aren't as easy to use as good old eye-through-the-camera usability. Sure you have to make allowances for parallax and the like but ultimately it is so much quicker - plus holding a camera against your face reduces shake. As for "sluggish low-light performance", this is a real shame as the best pictures are often those in low light (ever take a great pic with flash as your main light source? Very difficult to do as it kills most images dead).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
